It has been a flash! I can hardly believe that 20 years ago (May 25th, 2001), we stood on top of Mt. Everest, an event that would change all of our lives forever.
And, of course, you have to do something to celebrate. So, last month a couple dozen friends and I, including two other blind stokers on tandems, rode up as far as CDOT crews had plowed on Mt. Evans (14,265) the highest paved road in America, to share some sunshine, stoke, and revelry to mark our anniversary.

20 years on, it is interesting to think about what a catalyst Everest was for each of us, a ragtag bunch of young ambitious climbers. And, spoiler alert, while each of us has continued to climb, the real growth has come in what we have been able to share with the world.

Check out my conversation with a few teammates on the eve of the 20th Anniversary of climbing Mt. Everest.
