My friend Bob Kauffman and I drove to Utah to hammer some seriously steep sandstone, dust, and dirt for a few days. We got a bit of wind and rain out on the usual desert trails, then lucked out with a dry, sunny afternoon at Slickrock.

This was my first time riding the course and it was just one of the most beautiful, challenging, and punchy places I’ve ever biked — so much quick vert. Naturally, a lot of folks scratched their heads when they saw us roll up on our rig, but we managed!

Now I’m wondering, could a mountain handcycle do it? I think that would be a cool test.

Bob, thanks for another adventure in (and out of!) the saddle!
