International Women’s Day is a time to celebrate women’s achievements around the world — women like my friend Melissa Simpson who #ChooseToChallenge the status quo.

Melissa was born with cerebral palsy and knows as well as anyone that living a No Barriers Life does not mean living a life without barriers. Rather, who you are and what you’re capable of is ultimately defined by how you respond to the setbacks and challenges that life throws at you. Melissa exemplifies the reality of this struggle and the mindset to keep reaching, not in spite of her challenges but because of them.

Today, I invite you to enjoy “From My Window.” This short film captures Melissa’s barrier-breaking journey to climb a 13,000-foot peak in her wheelchair — to conquer the mountain within and to Elevate the world around her. The documentary was honored as a Vimeo Staff Pick Premiere and has received over 75,000 views since being released only a few days ago.

Melissa is a remarkable ambassador for accessibility and she is forging the path to a more inclusive world through her humility, strength, determination, and grace. I could not be more proud to call her my No Barriers family or overjoyed to share her story with the world now. Watch “From My Window” here.

Happy International Women’s Day!
