We celebrated our 100th episode of the No Barriers Podcast by speaking with the award-winning journalist and photojournalist Ann Curry. We discuss the human condition and the spirit of “Ganbaru,” the Japanese term for persistence and relentless hard work.
I hope you tune in to her story and share it with your family, friends, and coworkers. The full show is free on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and our website: https://nobarriersusa.org/podcast/interview-with-ann-curry/

Ann brings Ganburu to every aspect of her life and career. She has reported on conflicts in Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Darfur, Congo, the Central African Republic, Serbia, Lebanon, and Israel; on nuclear tensions from North Korea and Iran and on numerous humanitarian disasters, including the tsunamis in Southeast Asia and Japan, and the massive 2010 earthquake in Haiti. Her awards for journalism include 7 Emmys and she’s earned numerous humanitarian awards, including from Refugees International, Americares, and Save the Children. One award she especially prizes is a Medal of Valor from the Simon Wiesenthal Center, for her dedication to reporting about genocide.
