If you squint, is it any better? Ha! Really though, thanks to my dad and #1 supporter, Ed Weihenmayer, for taking this picture in Denver International Airport while he was traveling through on business.

It’s an incredible honor to be featured in the Foundation for A Better Life’s “Pass It On” Billboard Campaign. These billboards span highways and public spaces across the country as part of the Foundation’s ongoing public service effort to communicate positive values that encourage folks from all walks of life to strive for a better future.

A clearer capture from a friend: the same billboard on a column at Denver International Airport

As my teammate Skyler put it, the installations are like the Wheaties box of signage! Other features you may recognize include changemakers like Albert Einstein, Oprah, Muhammad Ali, Helen Keller, Abe Lincoln, Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, Mister Rogers, Nelson Mandela, Christopher Reeves, Gandhi, Jane Goodall, Mother Theresa, and even Kermit the Frog.

I’m proud to be in such a notable company, and it’s cool to know that now three generations of the Weihenmayer family have all stood in front of this same poster. The Foundation shared my story in Times Square in the early 2000s and this is the second time they’ve shared it at DIA. It’s a strong reminder of just how much I have to be grateful for with the 20th anniversary of Everest coming up in May.
