The World's Most Adventurous Adventure Race™ starts on Saturday on the Upper Colorado River. This will be the 5th running of the Adventure TEAM Challenge, proudly sponsored by Alteryx, and it promises to be the best yet. We have 13 teams and 65 athletes from all over the US competing in an event that includes rafting, mountain biking, crossing zip lines and rappelling.
There are lots of adventure races out there, some of which are brutally hard, but this unique competition beats them all on the adventure scale because each 5-person team has two disabled athletes, one of whom is wheelchair bound. Over two days, the teams will be forced to take on challenges that able-bodied athletes would find daunting.
Of course, I'm in it to win it with my team, Team Lumber Liquidators, for the third year in a row. But several teams have thrown down the gauntlet and are gunning to break our winning streak. Bring it on!
This year's event features complimentary meals for not only the participants, but for volunteers and registered family spectators, too. Thanks to the generosity of Timberline Tours for helping make this year's Challenge a tasty success.
