Training for the Leadville 100 with John Lemon

I enjoy both road and mountain biking from the "stoker" position on a tandem bike.  In 1998, I was part of the Vietnam Challenge and biked 1,079 miles from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City with my father, Ed. In 2000, I biked 1,267 miles from San Francisco to Denver, and in 2010 I competed in the Leadville Trail 100, which has become one of the most celebrated and recognized mountain bike races in the world.

As some of you know, my tandem partner, John Lemon, and I are training for the Leadville Trail 100 Mountain Bike Race, which is just a month away. We’ve been doing local rides on the road bike during the week and getting out for longer rides on my mountain bike on the weekends. This past Sunday, rode over 11,680-foot Rollins Pass–both ways!
