My friend Mike Armstrong is doing another fundraiser to support the Foundation for Blind Children. This time he and his partner are going to ride a tandem road bike 390 miles across Arizona, from east to west, over 5 days in September. Their goal is to raise $25,000 for the foundation.
Mike went blind at age 27 due to tearing of his retinas but since then he has hiked the Grand Canyon rim-to-rim, climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, and hiked the 807-mile Arizona trail. This spring, he participated in the Adventure TEAM Challenge and that got him hooked on cycling. Since then, he bought a tandem and cooked up his next fundraising adventure. By the way, Mike also teaches karate and jujitsu so he's more than a little fit.
I hope you'll support his efforts and follow the ride online when it starts on September 25th.
